Both UVA and UVB radiation can damage skin and increase the risk of cancer. The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends that you use sunscreen that protects against UVA and UVB radiation with a minimum of SPF15.

Though nanoparticles in sunscreen have not been shown to penetrate intact skin, it is unclear whether broken or burned skin is more susceptible to penetration. Further, nanoparticle ingredients are not necessary for an effective sunscreen, which is why our recommended product is non-nano.
